Our environmental, social and governance commitments — measurable, audited, and aligned with Kenyan and international standards.
We are a planet-positive business: every operational tonne of CO₂e is offset 10× by verified restoration we plant ourselves. We follow the IFC Performance Standards, the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Kenya's National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP 2023–2027). Native, non-invasive species only; zero conversion of natural ecosystems; FPIC for every community partnership.
We pay above-market wages to CFAs, nurseries and field rangers benchmarked annually against KNBS data. We commit to ≥45% women in payroll and ≥30% women in leadership, in line with the Two-Thirds Gender Principle of the Constitution of Kenya, Article 27(8). We prohibit child labour, forced labour and discrimination of any kind and we operate a whistle-blower hotline overseen by an independent ombudsperson.
Our board has an independent majority and a dedicated Sustainability Committee. We publish audited financials, carbon registers and project KPIs annually. We comply with the Companies Act, 2015, the Capital Markets Authority Stewardship Code, and the Kenya Forest Service M&E framework. Anti-bribery follows the Bribery Act, 2016 with zero facilitation payments.
We engineer for trust: on-chain proof-of-planting, open APIs for regulators, AI fairness audits, ISO/IEC 27001-aligned security, and full conformance with the Data Protection Act, 2019. We commit to algorithmic transparency, publishing model cards for every biodiversity- and carbon-scoring model we deploy.
We report annually against GRI Standards, SASB Forestry & Paper Products (RR-FP), TCFD and the UN SDGs (priority 13, 15, 5, 8 and 17). Our methodologies are peer-reviewed and our carbon claims are independently verified by accredited bodies under Verra VCS, Gold Standard and Plan Vivo.
