Growing the next generation of restoration leaders.
Our Schools & Institutions program transforms schoolyards, university campuses, hospital grounds and faith institution compounds into living classrooms. Every site features an edible-canopy food forest, indigenous arboretum or shade grove — paired with QR-tagged species trails, student stewardship clubs, rainwater harvesting and an embedded agroecology curriculum. We are growing the next generation of restoration leaders while feeding students and cooling classrooms.
Outcomes to date
- 1,200+ schools and institutions enrolled across 5 countries
- 720 hectares of school land under agroforestry management
- Student science scores up 22% where outdoor curriculum is active
- School feeding costs reduced 35% through on-site fruit and nut production
Our approach
Living classroom design
Each site mapped as an outdoor learning lab with curriculum-aligned species zones.
Student stewardship clubs
Pupils lead planting, monitoring and maintenance with teacher mentorship.
Edible-canopy integration
Fruit, nut and medicinal species provide school meals and community pharmacy.
Rainwater + micro-catchment
Roof harvesting, swales and infiltration pits keep trees alive through dry spells.
