Trees + farms = climate-resilient livelihoods.
Our agroforestry program partners with 20,000+ smallholder farmers across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. We design farm-level planting plans that mix native shade, fruit and nitrogen-fixing species with food crops — measurably improving soil organic carbon, water retention and farm income within three seasons.
Outcomes to date
- +38% average crop yield after 3 seasons
- 21,400 farming households enrolled
- 112,000 hectares under regenerative practice
- Recognized under the Trillion Tree Challenge — Africa
Our approach
Farmer-led design
Plans co-created with the household, anchored to their food and income goals.
Native species mix
8–14 indigenous species per hectare, matched to soil, rainfall and altitude.
Survival monitoring
Quarterly GPS check-ins for 5 years with satellite cross-verification.
Carbon + income
Farmers earn from carbon, fruit, fodder and timber — diversifying revenue.
